Cutting Edge Conversation: Listening Skills for Coaching and Beyond!

The skill of listening is essential to successful coaching and to all helping professions.  Come and participate in a discussion of what promotes active, successful, and comprehensive listening in a helping situation.  Listening is a skill which can be built upon on a continual basis.  Listening skills are critical for allowing clients to be heard and understood as they express their individual situations. Listening never becomes irrelevant!

Lois Cavanagh-Daley is an ordained interfaith minister who is studying to become a certified chaplain.  Chaplaincy is focused on pastoral care which is the ministry of presence and active listening.  Lois is a teacher by training, and she has had experience teaching children, youth, and adults in traditional and non-traditional settings.  Lois has been an advocate for individuals with mental illness for many years and she has 10 plus years’ experience in psychiatric rehabilitation working for non-profit organizations.
