Our speakers

Vahbiz Shroff is an executive coach, trainer, business owner, and an organizational leader. She has developed a diverse professional presence through fulfilling careers in science, business and leadership coaching. After pursuing a career in academia, particularly oncology research and diagnostics for over 20 years, Vahbiz explored coaching, for her personal and professional development. She soon realized that coaching was a passion for her, and now dedicates herself to helping students and professionals achieve fulfilling careers. She has served as an executive coach for the Entrepreneurship Center at the Keenan Flagler School of Business - University of North Carolina-CH, the Caldwell Fellowship Program and FFAR Program at North Caroline State University, and Acadia Healthcare in addition to several pharmaceutical companies and business organizations. Dr. Irina Filonova is the founder of "the phd whisperer," an evidence-based coaching and training company that supports PhDs both within and outside academia. Through her coaching expertise, Irina helps PhDs worldwide create fulfilling professional lives and unlock their leadership potential by aligning their values, skills, and interests. Despite living in Japan, Irina maintains a strong connection with ICFRAC HEC-SIG, where she promotes coaching in higher education. Previously, Irina worked as an academic developer at the Faculty Affairs Office, OIST, Japan, after completing a 3-year postdoc at UT Southwestern, Dallas, Texas. She holds a PhD in Biomedical Sciences (Neuroscience), ICF PCC, and Gallup Strength coach certifications.
