Are you really listening? The Practice of working with your Listening Filters

May 12, 2025

7:30 - 8:30 pm ET

CCEUs - CC 1.0, RD 0.0

This event is co-hosted with ICF NYC's International Coaching Week.

Unconscious filters often distort our listening. In this session, learn the art of bracketing—noticing, naming, and setting aside assumptions like “I know” or “I’m right” in real time. Deepen your coaching presence, sharpen active listening, and evoke greater client awareness through this essential practice.

What to Expect Out of This Session:

  • A simple framework to recognize and bracket listening filters
  • Live practice identifying filters in conversation
  • Tools for reflection to strengthen long-term presence and awareness
  • Practical applications for coaching mastery

Outcomes:

  • Enhance Active Listening: Notice assumptions and hear beyond them.
  • Deepen Coaching Presence: Stay flexible, client-centered, and in-the-moment.
  • Expand Client Awareness: Evoke deeper insights through unbiased listening.
