HOW TO CONNECT WITH EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE
Improve your coaching skills.
Connect better with clients
Learn a model of how to connect.
Get a sense of how to use emotional intelligence for connecting.
Learning how to connect better is a crucial task for both coaches and leaders. Therefore, you can “kill two birds with one stone” when you learn how to connect with emotional intelligence. You will coach better. You can teach leaders how to lead better.
In the 1990’s Daniel Goleman popularized the term emotional intelligence. In 2002 he wrote a book published by Harvard Business School (my alma mater), Primal Leadership: Realizing the Power of Emotional Intelligence. He argued that leaders need emotional intelligence to engage followers. Since then, I have been training emotional intelligence to both leaders and followers.
I also developed 50 hours of emotional intelligence training that is mainly about connecting, the key skill for coaching and leading. At our ICF – Raleigh meeting on Sept. 11, you can get an overview of how I train people to improve how they connect.
You can immediately apply this to improve your coaching skills.
