Join us for this special joint event between the Raleigh chapters of the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) and the International Coach Federation.

ASTD-RTA Members: When we consider the term 'coach,' many of us might immediately think about the individual on the sidelines supporting the team (or making a spectacle!) in a game. And while this is certainly one example of coaching, did you know that the discipline is actually one of 10 specific areas of expertise (AOEs) defined in the ASTD Competency Model?

ASTD defines coaching as the 'application of a systematic process to improve others' abilities to set goals, take action, and maximize strengths.' Within this realm of coaching, you can find a number of unique perspectives. Join us to learn from a panel of experts with experiences in executive, corporate, and career management coaching (to name a few) and discover more about the fundamental links between coaching and T&D.

Coaches - are you interested in learning more about the link between coaching and training and development? This would be a great opportunity for you to meet members of ASTD and learn more about the chapter.

Do you have specific questions for the panelists to address during the discussion? Please feel free to submit your queries by Friday, May 9, 2014 to meetings@astd-rta.org
