As a Coach, we work diligently to progress our Clients through the Coaching Model, carefully establishing the agreement and coaching plan to an ambitious goal, then the Client prematurely ends the Coaching Relationship. 

  • How do you step away from a Coaching Relationship that has ended prematurely, knowing that there is unfinished business?
  • What does this feel like for the Client?
  • What are the challenges for the Coach in this situation?
  • What about your communication to the Sponsor?  

On the flip side, your Client has reached their goal and is super happy with the results. You have been sensing for the past two sessions that there is not a great deal of added value coming from the session; however, the Client wants to continue meeting regularly.      

  • What are the signs that the Coaching Relationship in naturally coming to an end?
  • What are the challenges for the Client in this situation?
  • What are some actions the Coach can take to prepare for an effective and positive end of the relationship?
